If you could cram as much as possible about Italian culture all under one roof, that would be the House of Peroni in a nutshell. However, when you delve deeper, such a short, non-descript depiction of the month long pop up based in a 4 storey mansion on Lincoln’s Inn Fields does not do it an ounce of justice.
Every May, Italian beer producers Peroni invite Londoners to get more familiar with Italian heritage by creating the House of Peroni. Although the name may suggest it is just a fancy beer house, it actually incorporates fashion, art, cocktail masterclasses and a gourmet restaurant by East London restaurant Bottega Wapping on the top floor. We went to the opening last week trying out bottled Negronis, pondered over artwork inspired by Carlo Peroni, and ate dishes available from the brunch club. A full list of events running every day up until the close on 31st May is available here. Recommended if you love high fashion and abstract art.
