The Westenders at the Savoy

Musical theatre, dinner, and cocktails –watch out because the West End is coming to the Savoy! On selective Sundays throughout the summer and autumn, the Thames Foyer in one of London’s most prestigious hotels will be abuzz with classics from Phantom, Mamma Mia and many more.

Whilst guests enjoy Sunday dinner, they will be serenaded by The Westenders, a performance group who specialise in taking songs from the most popular musicals and bring them to a cabaret setting. And when I say cabaret I’m not talking corny cruise ship singing, these are six talented ladies and gentlemen with over twenty years’ experience in musical theatre between them, so you are guaranteed a great show.

We got an exclusive preview of their abilities aboard a specially commissioned open top bus tour of the West End, where they performed hits from Les Mis’ all the way through to The Lion King. It wasn’t the warmest day of the year and with the bus constantly stopping and starting through Trafalgar Square traffic, it was less than an idyllic stage to put on a memorable performance, but they pulled it off with so much grace that they were given a furious round of applause by all when the performance reached a climactic ending as we pulled up outside the Savoy. And to top it all off, upon departure we were greeted to a well-deserved bespoke summer cocktail made with one of my favourite cognac liqueurs, Chambord.

Songs, supper, and sweet cocktails- Sundays at the Savoy will never be the same again!

Entertainment begins at 8:00pm until 9:45pm; £25.00 per person including a Chambord cocktail. Performances will be taking place on 26th July, 20th September, 18th October, 15th November and 20th December
