The Botanist Broadgate Circle Launch
Earlier this month, ImALondoner was invited to the launch of The Botanist at Broadgate Circle. The latest bar and restaurant from the award-winning ETM Group, The Botanist is the second of its kind to grace the city – the original still going strong in cocktail-craving Chelsea.
Broadgate Circle has become the ideal after-work go-to for city slickers with its fantastic collection of bars and restaurants situated around an open, circular Italian-style piazza – only minutes away from Liverpool Street. The two level venue is a welcome addition, boasting a smart restaurant, stylish bar and late-night club.
The exclusive launch party showed London’s city dwellers how The Botanist rolls, offering Joseph Perrier Champagne on arrival and a selection of four delicious cocktails throughout the evening. My favourite was the English Spring Punch with Tanqueray Gin, Cassis and Lemon, but I bet the Botanist Negroni with Sipsmith Gin, Sipsmith Sloe Gin, Campari and Belsazaar Red, will be a glorious summer hit.
Canapés included fresh oysters, shucked and prepared before your very eyes and scrumptious prawn cocktails. There was also an entire cheese bar, where guests could help themselves to the finest cheeses – very nice with a glass of their Castilla La Mancha red wine. And then the desserts – my, oh my – the brownies were to-die-for. Music, courtesy of DJs and bongo players, blasted out onto the terrace, where stilt performers wowed us with their skills.
The Botanist is bound to be a smash as the weather gets warmer – the terrace provides the lovely atmosphere of an upmarket garden party, on which you can dine al-fresco or enjoy a few fruity cocktails after work, at the weekend – or both – as I’m sure many of us will.
