Rum Experience Week 12-18 October

I’ve been an avid supporter of UK Rumfest since its humble beginnings nine years ago. I’ve enjoyed it more and more each year with my only gripe being that the event only lasts two days. Well it would seem my rants spamming the @Rumfest twitter feed have been listened to with the launch of the first ever Rum Experience WEEK!

Monday 12th till Sunday 18th October sees London turn into a mecca for all things rum with cookery classes, live music, cigar pairings and much more. London venues hosting events throughout the week include Soho institution Gerry’s Wines and Spirits, Mayfair tiki bar Mahiki and luxury Blackfriars champagne and cigar bar Voltaire. One event that caught my eye is the Tiki on the Thames river tour on Thursday 15th October, which takes enthusiasts on a rum fuelled party boat hosted by Rumfest creator and global rum ambassador Ian Burrell.

And if five days of parties, samplings, and masterclasses wasn’t enough, it all culminates with arguably the biggest two day rum festival in the world. The 9th annual UK Rumfest takes place on the weekend of 17 and 18 October at the ILEC Conference Centre in Earl’s Court; expect over 400 rums to sample, seminars, exotic food stalls, and of course, the return of Carnival Hour!

Tickets for Rumfest are priced £49.95 per day or £89.90 for weekend passes, both available to buy from http://rumfest.co.uk/
