Luxardo Cocktails

Last week I had the pleasure of going down to Hoxton Square’s Dead Doll’s House to witness a Luxardo cocktail competition using any of the Luxardo classic liqueur range as the base ingredient.  You’ve probably seen (or downed shots of) Luxardo Sambuca, but there is a whole host of fruit and herbal liqueurs, grappa, and even maraschino cherries made by the Italian

12 of the UK’s hottest bartenders were given only 5 minutes to create a bespoke Luxardo cocktail with a mystery box of ingredients, and was designed to showcase the versatility of the brand.  The winner of the competition was Hal McRitchie-Pratt of La Raza in Cambridge with his creation the Cherry Beatdown.  His cocktail combines Luxardo Sangue Morlacco, Luxardo Maraschino Originale, syrup from a jar of Luxardo Maraschino cherries, vodka, beetroot juice, muddled yellow pepper and basil, all shaken over ice.

Videos of all 12 cocktails including Hal’s winning creation are available on Luxardo’s dedicated cocktail website https://luxardococktails.com/get-inspired
